Boris Johnson - No one on the streets this Winter

Closed! We handed in our petition virtually and we’ve heard back.

The government have now provided an extra £28m to help vaccinate and accommodate people sleeping rough. The homelessness minister Eddie Hughes has also written to councils to say that they should accommodate people sleeping rough.

But we still need clear guidance for local authorities to make sure everyone is accommodated safely and given the support they need.

A massive thank you to everyone who signed! Watch the virtual hand-in.

Add your name to demand emergency accommodation now

As we head into another cold winter during the ongoing pandemic, people are on the streets. It’s heartbreaking.

Our services are being approached by people who need emergency accommodation. These people are being turned away by councils and often told they have no rights.

We know that to end homelessness for good more affordable social homes are needed. But urgent action is required right now.

To keep all homeless people safe this winter, we're calling on the government to take the first step in a roadmap out of homelessness by:

  • publishing clear guidance to councils that everyone at risk of sleeping on the streets should be offered safe emergency accommodation and support
  • making sure councils have adequate funding to provide it

Everyone should have the right to a safe and warm place to stay this winter. Join us in calling on the Prime Minister to get everybody off the streets this winter.

We’ll be handing in all the signatures we collect to No. 10 Downing Street before Christmas, so please sign today.
