Share your social housing celebration

Social housing: a foundation to thrive

Do you have a personal connection to social housing? If so, we want to hear from you.

We’re looking to celebrate all the things that people from social housing have done. Fun, interesting, surprising, positive images and stories that you’re happy for us to share with the world. Whether you live in social housing now, grew up there, or your family has a history, we want to hear about your favourite life moments that capture your proudest achievements - however big or small they may be.

To tell these stories, we’re looking for pictures or video clips of these proudest moments, alongside a quick written explanation of what your proudest moment is, and how you're connected to social housing.

Here are some examples from us, but achievements take any and all forms:

  • throwing your mortarboard into the air at graduation
  • writing on a chalkboard as you teach in a classroom
  • working on a maternity ward, or working as a paramedic or as a caregiver
  • receiving a medal or a trophy – from a local tennis tournament to a bravery award
  • performing – all the way from community theatre to the West End stage!
  • winning an award!
  • working on a fantastic project – from starting a community garden or campaigning locally, to working in cancer research or helping to engineer the new Elizabeth Line!

Your photo, video or story could be featured on our social media channels, on our website, or in paid advertising for us. If your story is chosen, we may also use your first name alongside it.

If you have trouble uploading your photo, please email us at campaigns@shelter.org.uk

Please note: this form won’t be monitored. If you have a housing issue, you can visit our Get help pages.
