Let's flood Norwich City Council's inbox and make it impossible for them to back down.
Last December, after thousands of you campaigned, Norwich City Council announced that they had bought Anglia Square and now intend to include 50% social housing on the site.
The council’s commitment to this new social development is the first fantastic step in the right direction to building a city where everyone has a safe and genuinely affordable place to call home.
When the development was originally proposed, less than 10% of it was to be made ‘affordable’ for the people of Norwich. If this had gone ahead, the likely inevitable development of luxury apartments would have meant that even the affordable homes would be out of most people's reach - only further adding to the housing emergency.
Join us in congratulating the council on their commitment to 50% social housing in Anglia Square, and making sure that they see their social housing promises through.
Together, we can make certain that this is the first of many successes for social housing developments for the people of Norwich.
In solidarity,
