We’re nearly at the finish line with the Renters’ Rights Bill: soon this bill will become law. And once implemented, 11 million renters across England will have new rights: meaning greater security and better protections.
Some of the key protections will be:
- An end to Section 21 no fault evictions (landlords will need a legitimate reason to evict tenants)
- Rent in advance capped to one month
- No more fixed-term tenancies trapping renters in poor conditions or unfit homes
- A landlord's register to be introduced in England
- Ban on discrimination against people receiving benefits
These are big changes to renters’ rights – made possible by campaigners like you.
