A bill to give renters more rights - the Renters' Rights Bill - is going through parliament. And we need renters to share their stories.
We want to show parliament what life for renters is really like beyond the headlines and statistics - and we need your help to do this.
Have you faced a sudden rent hike that you couldn’t afford? Been priced out of your home? Struggled to keep up as rents keep rising?
Then we want to hear from you. Your story shows what the stats can’t: how broken our private renting system really is. Right now, the Renters’ Rights Bill doesn’t do enough to stop unaffordable rent hikes. Your voice can cut through the political noise and remind MPs and peers what this bill is really about — real people, facing real pressure.
We want to use your stories across our campaign, media, and social channels — to show the human cost of unaffordable rents and to push for a bill that delivers true stability and security.
We welcome stories and photos from renters of all backgrounds — but especially from Black and Asian communities, who are hit hardest by housing injustice.
We’ll always anonymise your story unless you tell us otherwise and we will never share your story without checking with you first. If you have trouble uploading your photo, please email us at campaigns@shelter.org.uk
We’ve already won some big changes. Now let’s finish the job.
Please note: this form won’t be monitored. If you have a housing issue, you can visit our Get help pages.
